About
Heather Zayde
I am a licensed clinical social worker. Psychology is my passion and I am grateful that I have been able to dedicate my life to helping and empowering others. I am a native New Yorker and grew up in the Bronx. I attended LaGuardia high school, Binghamton University for my undergraduate studies, and Columbia University for my master's degree.
One of my other passions is advocacy, particularly in our current political climate. Some psychotherapists prefer to keep their political views private but I would rather be open as a person who works hard to fight racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, and all other "isms." I am a radical queer feminist and live my life as such.
I also love art and music and, particularly enjoy working with those who work in the arts. I play the guitar and sing in a band when I have time, and also love to watercolor on my days off. If you ask I will happily share some of my art with you, and I would love to see yours.
Finally, I love to read and enjoy scary movies! If we work together we will definitely talk about self-regulation skills, and though it sounds counter-intuitive, horror movies are my favorite! Keep an eye on an upcoming articles for more information.
